Perhaps the other committee members simply don't want to spend another 100 hours a year with him? After all, these people are volunteers. <br /> <br />Though still strong minded, Jay seems to be more affable and potentially easier to work with. However, the other poster was right. Nobody nominated Jay for the same reason nobody nominated David Cook. At the time of nominations each of them had one half hour of experience on the TC. Dave and Jay will have plenty to do in the next year. They have to learn various policies and procedures. They need to start forming relationships at the county and state level. They need to get to know and access the quality of professionals and employees that work for the township. I believe both Jay and Dave would agree they have plenty to do. <br /> <br />If you want to complain about Jay not being nominated in a year, please do. That is a hard thing to do in a small town. <br /> <br />Whether Democrat or Republican we should all want bipartisanship. We only benefit from this approach. This is the same independent of who holds a majority. Though, we do let our personal politics get in the way and take a we won you lost view. We won therefore you lose so we get control. That mentality from either party damages our town because all 5 are elected equally. There is no Win or Lose on Cranbury's level and should not be. Unfortunately, as I tell people no matter our age we always still have that high school attitude in us. <br /> <br />I am sure Mr or Ms Guest would be the first one screaming if Republicans held a majority and excluded Democrats. I am also sure I would be screaming right along side Guest. Just as I am backing your letter today because the principle is the same. <br /> <br />We have 60 plus posts on the other thread. The quote from Mr. Taylor hit the proverbial nail on the head- we had 3 long term TC members and town interest is supporting someone independent of party. The majority of of posts call for bipartisanship. The majority also are written by Guest. We had no reason to exclude Win and we had no reason not to support Mr. Stout for Mayor and Mr. Stannard for planning board. They ignored these slates and split the vote. That seems like a clear signal that the majority of us in the Township want bipartisanship and not party politics. yet you are advocating that the TC members ignore that mandate and consider their party affiliation first, last and always. That's out of sync with the majority of the community. <br /> <br />By the way, two of the last two people elected have been Republican. There is a three-to-two Democrat majority (where there used to be a 4-to-1 majority) because two of the three Democrats are in the sunset of their term.
