The plan is for the line to run 6 days a week (Mon-Sat) from 6AM to 7PM. The one planned stop in Cranbury is Park Place with the bus stopping additionally for anyone that waves them down. -The library gave a presentation about what they are doing for the community as well as presenting a summary for their budget from I believe was the last five years. They said that it would be posted on their web site so everyone can see. One point to be made the library is facing cuts from the state level which will jeopardize the inter library sharing which last year allowed Cranbury residents to borrow 1400 books from other towns libraries. This is one cut which concerns me as we do have a small library shared with the school and it is impossible to house a large number of books for every topic. The loss of this service will negatively impact many residents and I agree this cut should not happen and should be reversed.[/quote] A bus would be great :) I think 35 on old trenton rd is a little to slow![/quote]

The planning and design of the project was done by Brown and Keener(sp?). Alan was still on the committee so Stout and Stannard were not yet elected. It may have been Staves first year. <br /> <br />The process for deciding on this project was as open as it could be. Tontines(sp?) were held. The project and its design had widespread community support. Were there those against the project? Yes, a very small very vocal group. <br /> <br />The main cost of this project was the remediation, which would have to have been done whether it was a Ball field or not. The problem with the project was the construction oversight which was a debacle. <br /> <br />The township committee which put this project in motion was 100% behind the project. Again, Stannard and Stout were not there. The only connection that far back was an idea that one day a ball park may be nice. That also included a stand alone library, and other not been done projects. The ballpark was done all under the Stout and Stave controlled TC. Now, if it had been managed properly as it is now with the construction department, rec board and other township staff or volunteers we may not have spent as much and this would be a non-issue. Two of the current TC members were proponents of this project and one of them is our current Mayor. <br /> <br />And I think the suggestion it was started with "good intentions" is open to interpretation. It was started not even as a little league field but specifically as a Babe Ruth Field that would have been exclusively for the use of that very select private league. Their requirement, and the plan of those on the TC that first approved the project, was for the Township to build it then turn over management of it to the Babe Ruth league. Our adjacent school teams, our Cranbury-Plainsboro little league and softball teams, none of these groups would have been able to set foot on it. This baseball project had originally been quoted to cost $300 thousand and will probably cost us well over $600 thousand. It has changed from a little league field and now ear marked for the entire community as it should have been. The problem arises that even though the original project manager is no longer involved, it still is not completed. It is then up to us to do the work. If we do it for less we keep the money. You apparently would rather have our county tax dollars spent in Edison. I think it is great when we get some of the tax dollars we send to the county back. By your logic Cranbury should accept to county, state of federal money.
