Someone who is 35 or 36 is not an old timer and does not know anything about "Old Cranbury"

The rules about chipping were always in effect. However, as new people moved in and old ones moved out people forgot or just didn't care about the 3rd Wed. schedule. So last year the township changed the ordinance to have 2 written none financial warnings and a 3rd that would have a fine. It's been communicated all over the place, here in the Press in the newsletter. That was the only change. If people do what they were supposed to do then there is no written notice and certainly no fine.
The 3rd Wed. schedule was always in effect so I don't understand why people complain this is new and not old Cranbury. The TC has two life long residents on it. Don't you think they know Old Cranbury and want to keep Old Cranbury?
For the most part Old Cranbury respected the schedules and tried to keep the town and the front of their homes nice looking not filled with branches and junk making some roads one lane, but there are always a few who did not.
I'd be interested to know how many 3rd notices are mailed because to me to get 3 notices you have to blatantly ignore the rules and if you do then you should get a fine, but then those people are also likely to complain it's not old Cranbury (I can't do as I please and ignore the rules anymore). Just like speeding. It's fine to get a warning, but keep doing it and you'll get a ticket.

Can't believe a resident would have to ask this question? Cranbury isn't what it used to be
Yea that's right newcomer Cranbury is not what it used to be. Before you lived here you would never see brush piles around for a month making the town look like crap. I think the new rules are great. Makes it look like Cranbury once did, nice and clean.

I just saw this thread and there was a lot going on today so I could not respond quickly.
On Chipping
I spoke with Jerry Thorne Director of Public Works and Denise Marabello Twp Administrator. There will not be a mailing of notices. At this point in time we anticipate doing a round of chipping to help residents starting this Tuesday. The next chipping after this round will be the normal chipping schedule.
Today's Storm
Our emergency services today did a fantastic job. I started working at 7am after many of these people had been up for hours.
- Many roads were flooded and closed including Rt 130, Old Cranbury Rd., parts of Old Trenton Rd. and N & S Main St.
- Main St. is still flooded and we anticipate it will be closed for another day or so until the water recedes and we can get a structural review of the roadway. We want to be cautious given the flooding combined with the rate of water flow.
- Our emergency services conducted a number of evacuations today and assisted residents in need.
- We supported Hightstown who also had issues with flooding, water and sewer services.
- Our 911 services which are dispatched by Hightstown were impacted as their building flooded. We moved them and their PD to our HQ as a temporary solution. EW then took over the 911 dispatching.
- A number of areas in town lost power today as well.
Those are just some of the issues our first responders faced today.
Many residents in town suffered a lot of damage and flooding to their homes as well.
I would ask that residents in the coming days please be patient as our town staff work to get everything back to normal.

I put my branches on the curb already. Cranbury would not dare fine anyone due to the aftermath of Hurricane Irene.

I have many fallen tree branches. Can I put the branches on the curb side or will I get a fine if I do that?
