Post subject: Re: Preserved Farmland asking for Subdivision with Variances?
Also, a subdivision isn't related to development. It's just splitting one property into two or more parts.

Today there was a posting;one day prior to the hearing[DRC-June 19,2014], for the Reinhardt property requesting a Subdivision with Variances. Why did we pay dearly for the swamp we call a preserve and now allow the used car lot to get additional special treatment? Its about time we stop doling out special treatment and variances like water. Hows about we just stick to the ordinances that are in place and not repeat the variance give away similar to Jet application.
Why are you assuming the outcome of something before it happens? Can you note other recent examples of the Township giving "special treatment" and discretionary variances? I assume you understand as well that just because something requires a waiver or variance that the Township doesn't have total discretion in denying those? There is a State-mandated legal standard and even when the Township has denied them in the past some developers have successfully sued that they were obligated to have granted them under the provisions of the state law.

Maybe part of the town's negotiation was to allow the owner to come in for a variance. I don't know. Anyone can ask for anything, just look at my kids when we're in Target. It doesn't mean the request will be granted.
