The race for Cranbury Township Committee will pit Democrats Jay Taylor and Michael Ferrante against Republicans Nancy Witt and Wayne Wittman after the candidates won their respective primaries June 5. Witt received 109 votes and Wittman 118, according to unofficial vote total at the Middlesex County Clerk's Office. Taylor and Ferrante, both of whom are sitting members of the governing body, received 269 votes and 302 votes, respectively. At the moment, Democrats hold a 4-1 edge on the township committee, so control of the municipal government will be up for grabs in November.
Assuming that the votes are counted tonight, will there be an announcement tonight or not until tomorrow morning? Very interested to see how this one goes.
