Board targets attendance, discipline and cyber bullying.

Disciplinary measures, student absences and what to do about cyber bullying were discussed Tuesday, when the Board of Education introduced a series of policy revisions.

Vice Principal Christine Capaci gave a 40-minute PowerPoint presentation that outlined the policy changes and how they will affect students.

The revisions are required by the recent changes in the state's Administrative Code. A vote is expected to place at the board meeting on March 6.

The changes include a stricter attendance policy, a more specific discipline policy that matches a number of behaviors with clear ramifications and a cyber bullying policy that allows the school to get involved if students post threatening, harassing or intimidating information on the Internet about fellow students.
