After reading the planning board minutes, two things are obvious: 1) If you are from Cranbury, it is easy to start a business. and 2) The engineer and township attorney spend way too much time nit picking small items that in no way help the residents. I see that Mr. Stanard was appointed as a liason to the business community. That was a poor choice.
Maybe we can put a 3 story parking deck in where the PNC bank lot is. It would do something with the propery and take care of "All our nonexistent" parking issues.
Or we can install parking meters to deter people from coming into the downtown area....lol

are you serious?? There has been a parking problem downtown for YEARS!!!
Are you joking?
Seriously, name ANY downtown with less of a parking problem than Cranbury in the real world? Anywhere. Maybe Chernobyl.
Even on the most significant events in Cranbury, like Cranbury Day or the 5th of July there isn't a parking problem. If its easy to park nearly by on Cranbury Day when most of Main Street is shut down, how can you possibly argue we have a parking problem. I arrived 15 minutes before the fireworks show on July 5 and still parked 2 minutes from where I watched them with a fantastic view.

Then your opinion is in direct opposition to Mr. Stannard who has at numerous meetings talked about a parking problem.
If he really beliecves that, its hard to have any respect for his position as a Township Committee member then because that's just crazy. It's like having a Congressman argue that the Earth really is flat. That's how credible it is to suggest we have a parking problem in Cranbury.

There are two camps on this issue: those that think a problem exists and those that don't. And it appears neither can convince the other to the contrary.
It seems to me that parking is much better than in other downtowns I've seen. There will obviously be ebbs and flows in parking demand. It is unclear whether people are arguing that the town plan for, and accommodate the highest levels of parking demand Cranbury encounters in a given year (sort of like planning for a 100 year rain event). I struggle with having an opinion on this issue in the absence of any data. I value the perspective of local businesses, who I presume are those arguing that sufficient parking does not exist. However, personally I am satisfied with parking and would also suggest we consider the consequences of adding more. What would we need to give up to gain more spaces?

Today Mon July 20 I went to lunch in Cranbury at the peak 12:00 time and plenty of spots, and on way back about 1:00ish there were 4 spots right infront of the BR place no more then 1min walk. So where is this fictitious parking problem, I never see it and I'm in town all the time.

S. Main, Evans and Brainerd Dr. and Maplewood have parking anytime of the week and N. Main rarely has issues. There are even a couple of public spots by the firehouse (not all). Yes, there are times I have been caught having to walk a little bit in the rain. However, compared to any other town this is a non-issue.

This is most likely a fake poster. No one would seriously suggest that because they might have had to park across the street and maybe 200 feet down that they would completely change their plans about where to eat...

How about parking on the opposite side of the street? I always get on street parking very close by on the other side of the street.

Disagree. The PNC purchase the TC wants for a library and the parking is simply another excuse. The CBA brought specific concerns to the TC multiple times and the TC is just now listening and trying to work with the businesses.

The TC discussions about the PNC purchase and the initiative to be more Main Street business friendly lead me to think that the majority of the TC has more interests in working for Main Street business owners/investors.

Did you check the other side of the street or the PNC parking lot? There are usually plenty of spots there.
