I went shopping at McCaffrey's late on Monday night, when this SUV pulls up to me and this guy starts looking at me funny. I thought that he was going to ask me for directions, but, he starts to give me a spiel about how he forgot his wallet and he needed gas money.
OKAY
There was some woman with him.........so she forgot her handbag?
I told him that I had no cash and to go to the police station if he wanted some help. I went inside the store and he lingered outside for a while, then he took off. Could it be the same kooks who were recently looking for hamsters in Cranbury? It was a blue SUV..........very square shape. I shoulda got the plate number!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, we'll have thefts and other issues in the warehouse, but that does not correlate to the residential areas. The people doing these crimes are not going to mug you at Gil and Berts or rob your home.
I agree Cranbury is a "safe" town, but I remember last summer when there were numerous burglaries. As a matter of fact I seem to recall that we had quite a few night time burglaries which occured when people where at home. I guess what I am trying to say is that no matter where you live you cant deceive yourself into thinking that you are immune from crime or "bad people". I am also thankful that we have a very good police force in our town.

Can we put some degree of thought or scope into these issues. Cranbury is an extremely safe town as it pertains to our residents and homes. Any time there is a business or a warehouse theft is bound to occur. I work in a secure building for a white collar company. Yet one of my colleagues went to lunch came back and his lap top was gone. Does that mean we have a dangerous office? No it means a lap top was stolen. It was 5 years ago and has not happened since or prior.

I think anyone who leaves a laptop unsupervised, locked or locked-up in a cabinet is asking for trouble. Would they leave their car unlocked at a mall? Same thing. It costs virtually nothing to secure a laptop -- they all come with a place on their case for doing so, and any company I have ever worked for would allow the expensing of such a cable. People don't do it because its inconvenient and lazy, and because its not their personal property in most cases. At my company security goes around every month or so and collects any laptops they find unsecured and the people have to come and track them down when they return. If their's gets taken more than twice, IT replaces it with a desktop and they permanent give up the privilege of having a company laptop.

lets give Monroe the warehouse district and Plainsboro all the farms in the west. Then we will just have Main Street. Think about it, the COAH obligation would go way down.

Folks,
Two are related to theft at Sun Pharmaceuticals (Prospect Plains Road), and one is the PNC bank robbery.
I still consider Cranbury a very safe place to be.
