In any event, you haven't posted a new idea here on this topic in over a year. Do you have some calendar reminder ping you once every week or so to spam a bunch of topics here with your same old Old Trenton diatribe indefinitely? To what end? Bored? You can’t hope to be accomplishing anything here.
Do you REALLY think it's just one person?
Could be many different people living in the same body...

The real problem here is that the county neglected to take advantage of the current road project to properly lay out the roadway in such a way that encourages drivers to drive at a safe speed based on all environmental factors. There should have been a central reservation, and maybe a few chicanes. This would reduce the distance of view down the road, which is a visual cue to drive at the proper speed.
I agree with the above observation, or
1. putting speed bumps,
2. having a cop there all the time,
3. drivers who feel it's necessary to obey the posted speed limit driving at that speed.
People are not robots that automatically drive at or below posted speed limit. They see a straight, wide open road and drive at their notion of "safe" speed.
Well that might be beacuse the plans for Old Trenton Rd are for a 50 mph speed zone. Don't believe me just ask the Middlesex county inspector driving around in the little white suv.
How many times does it need to be stated the 35 mph is here to stay. It has been stated numerous times at TC meetings that the county will not change from the 35. Was it originally 50 yes and planned that way yes. It is 35 now though.

The guy posting about the 85th Percentile Speed Limit is missing an important point which both the Town and the County understand. The 85th Percentile speed limit is a measure of HOW SAFE DRIVERS FEEL BASED ON ROAD CONDITIONS. It does NOT take into consideration pedestrians and bicyclists who use the road, residents on or near the road, number of driveways and cross-streets, and other environmental factors. While a driver may feel "safe" driving 50 or 55 on a straight, level road, this does not mean it is safe for other (non-driver) users of the road. The reason the county lowered the speed limit was because of the development that has occurred on this road since the speed limit was set at 50MPH.

That 85th percentile figure has been demonstrated to take into account pedestrians and cyclists, residential development, and everything you said. Read the studies. When I said that the majority drives for the conditions, I meant *all* conditions (except atypical hazards which are not present on the majority of other roads). Roadside conditions are included in this equation. Most drivers will not drive this fast when there are a lot of houses directly on the road. Most (or at least a good portion) also do slow down some for pedestrians or cyclists or whatever, though I could say that they should probably slow down more (I tend to slow down as much as 20 mph when I see one, depending on the road). That being said, I agree with you that traffic calming and changing the road is the proper way to reduce speeds (though 45 would be the least I could support even in that event, as 35 roads are usually pretty small and much more residential). This is why if you get a road with a speed limit of 50 like Cranbury Neck, most people are going 45-50, but if you have the same speed limit of 50 way out in the pine barrens with no development, most people are going 60+. Anyway, I will say that the problem is not really with speed (especially with high sight distances where pedestrians can be seen from far away), its more with inattention. There is a percentage of drivers like this that will unfortunately always exist as we hand out licenses like candy and don't take our traffic system seriously. There also will of course, be that 10-15% of drivers that drive too fast for the conditions present, which is also supported by evidence.

No, I really don't care, it's just really funny to see people resort to such extreme measures when they don't like my opinion. And I wouldn't really call it easy, given how hard this guy is trying to come off a certain way. Sure, maybe I'm bored on a late Sunday night. But not bored/enraged enough to spend a few hours writing some pseudo-intellectual poem trying to insult someone over a disagreement. I mean seriously, he's up at 1 AM writing POETRY about me. I should be flattered, lol....I guess I really am that important.
And you're up to read it and reply of course. You have to reply. I love your consistency. Keep it up.

Seems to be working just fine. If you didn't care, you wouldn't keep responding. You can't help yourself. Seriously, you make it too easy.
Yes he makes it too easy. That says something about him. What does the taunting say about you? This thread has run its course.

Since I don't really give a crap about the irrelevant psycho babble you post, your attempts at 'tweaking' aren't really working. And if that's what gets you off, you really need a life. If you call me trying to help people understand traffic engineering a bit better 'OCD' or 'being provoked', then you're simply delusional.
Oh wait, let me guess, I must be 'obsessive compulsive' for using the word 'irrelevant' twice? Is that the next 'witty' insult you're going to come up with? I already told you why I post twice; I can't edit etc. Since you seem to keep bringing that up, you must be pretty angry about my views to keep insulting me.

My only emotion in this is bemusement at tweaking you since you are so easily provoked. I don't really care about the speed of Old Trenton and in any event writing about it here isn’t going to matter one way or the other. Your emotions are another matter.
See, I did that as two posts in your honor. Now maybe I'll go find the other topic so I can say the same thing in two places at once because that might make people understand me better. LOL.
