From our Police Department: Although snowfall amounts are less than expected and the travel ban has been lifted, continuous snowfall has left roadways less than desirable for travel. All roadways are snow and ice covered making conditions extremely slippery and difficult. We are asking residents to refrain from unnecessary travel and remain off roadways so our snow removal efforts may continue uninterrupted. Municipal, county and state plows are out in force clearing roads, intersections and township walkways. Snowfall is expected to end by noon today. There have been no reported power disruptions within the Township. Should you be experiencing a disruption in service please notify the Cranbury Police.
I was at Town Hall this morning and am pleased that we're all prepared and ready for the pending storm.
A few updates from last night:
- Due to the snow storm, there will be NO Princeton High School Late Activity buses in operation today, January 26, 2015.
- We're in contact with PSE&G and JCP&L. They are preparing crews and staffing appropriately.
- A state of emergency has been declared for tomorrow. Therefore, Cranbury Town Hall will be closed.
We will be posting key information throughout the day today and tomorrow:
- Please register for Nixel alerts from the police at:
https://local.nixle.com/signup/widget/m/768/
If you do not want to sign up for Nixel, then updates can be found at:
http://www.cranburytownship.org/police_main.html
Stay safe and warm.

Thanks for the update. This is very helpful (no wonder I could not find a parking spot at the local ShopRite this morning).

Post subject: Snowstorm
I have been in communication with Denise Marabello our Town Administrator and Police Chief Varga this evening.
Presently, Cranbury is estimated to receive between 18-24 inches of snow. The heaviest snow fall is expected between tomorrow late afternoon/evening and Tuesday morning.
Our police officers, Public Works and emergency services are mobilized and prepared to respond should there be any issues.
At this time, I'd like to inform every one of the following:
- Cranbury School will have an early dismissal on Monday, January 26th at 12:30 p.m. Princeton High School is dismissing at 12:35 p.m. due to mid-term exams.
- Town Hall may close early tomorrow.
- We have proactively decided to cancel tomorrow evening's committee meeting. Items on the agenda will be discussed at another time.
Should the need arise for further updates, we'll issue alerts and I'll do my best to post information here.
