I'm not aware of any services. We use a neighbor's child and we actually prefer it as we know the kid. I'd be nervous inviting a stranger into my house even if it is through a service. We know that if our sitter has an issue she can call us, her parents, or any of the emergency numbers.
Babies are precious, so the keys are trust and reliability. Word of mouth "marketing" from trusted people is paramount. Just my $0.02.

Are there any babysitting services around? I used someone for my cats, but the ones for kids are much harder to find. I don't want to use the neighbor's 13 year old kid. I want to use someone who is certified and licensed and registered and all that stuff. Maybe the same folks who do nanny services?
Thanks.
I noticed your post and thought I'd write to tell you that I am a professional child caregiver. My husband and I reside in Cranbury. I presently work full-time for a Princeton physician and prior to that was employed by a Princeton U. professor. I have excellent credentials and references I can provide. I enjoy working with children from infants to school age. I was formerly a kindergarten teacher for 27 years. Aside from my full-time position, I occasionally work on a part-time ONLY basis (weekday evenings/a few hours on Saturday). I would be glad to make myself available to you should you be interested. If you would like to discuss whether there's a fit please post your e-mail address or phone number where you can contacted. Thank you.
