... WORK SESSION: Cranbury Senior Community Center Room Improvements/Furnishings – A telephone is to be installed which would allow 9-1-1, out-going local calls and non-restricted in-coming calls. Rosemary and Phyllis have spoken to Jerry Thorne regarding the outside sign and additional electrical outlets. Phyllis will order rug runners for the hallway. An A-frame type sign (similar to that used for the Gallery) should be purchased to advertise events. The lock on the storage cabinet needs to be replaced so the doors will stay closed. Possible future purchases include a projector and small side tables. On-Going Programming: Funds have been encumbered for “The Windsor Trio”. A counselor from Middlesex County will be at the Township on November 14th and December 12th. Kristen will take appointments and advertise the sessions in the “Cranbury Press”. The upcoming movie scheduled for October 26th will be advertised in the “Cranbury Press” on Friday. It was noted that five people attended the September movie and six people attended the AARP session. Rosemary and Phyllis met with a representative from the Senior Living Institute about possible programs. Suggestions included an antiques road show, ballet school demonstration, Historical Society program, 1860 House program, ShopRite cooking demonstration. It was suggested that they contact Meadow Lakes for programming ideas. Possible ideas for programs include: · Nancy Scharff (tentatively January 19th) · A travel talk by Bart Jackson · Edward Bogusz and a piano player · Tom Ward – program on tax preparation · Travel Around the World Series · Leo Fennity – program on Elsie the Cow · Reader’s Theatre Production " ... http://www.cranburytownship.org/human_services_minutes_10_16_07.html
