And in the meantime loses the Township probably 10% or more in lost property value and another 10% in transactional costs on both ends of the purchase and sale. So what is the point of costing the Township about $300,000 for the trouble?

It seems pretty clear the TC has already made up its mind on this and has even been organizing the process to try and justify their preordained actions. By the time the majority is available to be removed from office they may have killed the town by skyrocking our debt and focusing on pet projects while their focus should be on COAH.
What has changed versus the years before is we have reached a crisis between the increased taxes and COAH and in a time of crisis people's true capacity and colors come out more. Unfortunately that is proving that the current TC is woefully unqualified for the crisis and people are rightfully alarmed that there is nothing they can do since said TC is not even sincerely open to the wisdom of others in the town.

This is getting a bit nuts now. The TC members are acting according to law and I am sure doing what they themselves feel is best. Let us not forget there are some residents in support of the purchase. I don't happen to be one.
I would urge caution here. Cranbury historically has been apolitical. For the most part people will cross party lines to vote in for the best people. I think we have more party line people in town in recent years. I hope they will change. However, our elections are clean and people run on their merits they don't throw mud and they don't make for bad press. Making posts like this can only serve to bring bad politics like Robbinsville, West Windsor or Hamilton's into Cranbury. I will be very annoyed if we go down that path and it is a minority of residents that would do it.
Let us step back and make our point at the meeting that the PNC is purchase is not right because of the money and property. Please don't start and I have been more than guilty recently, of dragging down our TC because we're upset now before anything is done.

Does anyone know the local laws for recalling local TC members? Arnold got elected Governor in CA by getting the other guy recalled in the middle of his term. Is there any equivilent that can be organized in Cranbury?
I don't know. But I'll support any recall effort if the TC decides to buy the PNC for preserving parking spaces.
Make a deal with the future owner if Main St. parking is such a high priority for Cranbury. Geez, I did not know that Main St. parking is such a big deal for Cranbury when I bought my Cranbury home.
