We just completed the budget process and used 1.5 million from surplus so they could say they kept the tax rate down. Now, we're seeing the TC vote to issue a bond for 177,000 to do capital improvements? How come the town could not account for this money during the budget cycle instead of creating debt and causing more long term obligations? Seems like we're saying watch this hand while the other digs in my wallet. If they raised taxes this would be a one cent increase to cover. Why couldn't they strip the expense out during the budget process? Must these improvements be done now? There are too many tricks being played it seems.
If she was fired from Hopewell what was it for? If they fired her then how did she get the job here? This is something the TC was aware of I'm sure before she was given the job. Firing no matter what leads one to believe there must have been some problem Hopewell had with the way she did her job.

The second half of this thread seems like a inside conversation and completely unrelated to the first part. Can you guys let us in on what you are talking about?

Why did she leave Hopewell? Does she really make that much?

Well I'm sure Smeltzer is happy. Shes only bringing in about 150K+ with her two positions. Its nice to know the Cranbury picks up Hopewell's TRASH.

Maybe Win Cody knows.
I am counting on next year. Our town will have Dan and Jay to join the TC.

First, it is good that you are engaged enough to notice this. I personally have been admittedly too far removed from local issues lately. But this is entirely appropriate to raise at a TC meeting.

There are too many tricks being played it seems.
