Cranbury craftshow set for Saturday

CRANBURY — The Cranbury Craft Show will make its 11th annual appearance this weekend.
On Saturday and Sunday, more than 100 vendors will bring an array of individually crafted items to the township, including dried floral arrangements, jewelry, clothing, photographs, brass rubbings and Easter- and spring-themed decorations.
”It is the crafts that attract most of the people,” event co-Chairwoman Susan LeDonne said. “Over 100 crafters will have high-quality, handmade items. It’s something to do on the weekend — even when it’s been rainy, people are out walking around.”
The craft show, which also features baked goods, is sponsored by the Cranbury Education Foundation, which works independently of Cranbury School.
”We’re a separate organization, but everything we do benefits Cranbury School and, occasionally, the high school,” said Deanna Anderson, president of the foundation. “The mission of the foundation is to enhance the education at Cranbury School.”
In the past, money raised by the craft show helped fund the renovation of the large group room, purchased a kiln for the art department and enabled teachers’ participation in events that would further their own education, such as workshops.
This year, the proceeds from the craft show will go toward putting a few more SMART Board interactive whiteboards in the school’s classrooms.
