Did they happen to mention which budgets the unused funds came from? |

Here are a few highlights of last nights Township Committee Meetings for 11/9/2009
• Dr. Notterman gave an excellent presentation about H1N1 as well as background and history of flu. He encouraged vaccination and both he and our police chief highlighted that children, people with high risk health conditions, the elderly and first responders were the priority from the CDC and state to receive vaccinations. Currently in NJ we have 800,000 doses of vaccine for over 8 million people. Vaccine for the rest of us should be available sometime after Thanksgiving.
• Resolution 11-09-139 was passed which allows for the transfer of unused funds in the budget to be used for increased expenses in other areas such as legal fees, H1N1, Public water rates ($4,000), New trees to replace ones that died in town from disease, $8,000 for police vehicle repairs, and the sewer study which will cost $15,000
• Mr. Panconi gave his fire department update. He highlighted how the volunteer fire department is having trouble staffing fire calls during the day. He then went on to say the Township Committee will need to be ready to come up with ideas during the budget meetings as we may be facing the need to have some type of paid fire department staffing or come up with other ideas to help them. |
