Another category to promote our Christmas Display, how convenient!

If you would like to see a great Christmas Tree (20 foot high with over 5000 light!), please come to "Christmas Spectacular on Main Street" 128 North Main Street. Show run through New Years Eve, on the hour 6,7,8 and 9:00pm lasting for 45 minutes each.

We are still far behind last years non perishable food drive so at this point every little bit helps. For those who are able please give generously!

Thank you!

Christmas trees were used by pagans in Germany way before Jesu was born!
It's not really an "official" symbol of Christianity.

Actually, the pagan Yule holiday celebrated with evergreens. The tree wasn't called a "Christmas tree" until sometime in the Middle Ages. The idea really took off in the Victorian period.
I'm just qualifying my previous post.

Jesus was Jewish.
He wasn't born on December 25th.
"Christmas" trees don't grow in the middleast, so Jesus probably never saw one.
Jesus would tell you to stop wasting your money on foolish idolatry and give your money to the help the poor.

I recall Lowes marketed Christmas trees and Holiday trees a few years ago. I don't think it went over well....

Churches often have a "Holiday Tree" for needy families around the area. The tree is adorned with ornaments that represent each family. You are supposed to take one and then donate holiday gifts for that family, to be distributed to them by the church. In this case, holiday means whatever faith that needy family happens to be.
