We would get a lot more use out of a rollerskating rink than an ice rink. The ice rink would never freeze and the rollerskating rink would be usable almostevery day of the year.

Why doesn't the town purchase the Cranbury Swim Club pool? We can swim in summer and ice skate in winter!

Post subject: Re: ice rink/skateboarding
I just saw the Rec board agenda and this is there as old business discussion.
So
1) it's under old business and may not proceed formally.
2) it's not approved by the TC. Considering this TC, I highly doubt they would take this expense on. The library and business association asked for a new paved lot they said no in the short term, dredging the lake is needed and they said they need to look for funding, so why would they spend this money? It goes against their prior actions.
In fact, other than the dam repair I can't think of one large project that was done with township tax dollars. Down town, roads, are all grants.

Why are we getting ready to install an ice rink/skateboarding rink and pay $75-$100K for it? This is another pet project that will cost the taxpayers more money. The $75-100K is just for the concrete pad? WHY?
