There are no additional costs related to the delays so it hasn't changed the original cost of the project.
Thank you

What are the additional costs associated with these delays? How does the cost now compare to the original cost when the project was awarded?

Hello resident,
The work on the dam and bridge is nearly complete. The primary issues that are outstanding currently are the following:

1. Railing on the East and West side

2. The new Street lighting design and hardware for the over head street lighting.

3. The Bridge benches

First, the railing is a custom railing that has to be manufactured and assembled from custom made parts from multiple vendors. We are expecting the deliver of the railing by the end of this month or beginning of January.

Second is the overhead Street lighting that we have contracted with PSE&G to install. The lighting hardware is also custom and is of a historical design. Though the hardware is not unique it is not kept in inventory and has been back ordered for at least 4 weeks. We are expecting delivery at the same time as the railing however the railing must be installed first before PSE&G can put in the lighting.

Last are the benches. They are being restored and will most likely be returned to there bench pads after the railing and lights have been installed. The reason is that we don't want the benches damaged by or in the way of the trucks that will be installing the lights above the street.

Its been a 3 year project and we are down to the last few items. The Township is applying as much pressure as we can to have these last few important construction issues resolved. As soon as I get any definitive information on the above issues I will post here and let you know.

Thank you

Can someone from the TC post the status of finishing the dam work? When will the rails, benches, etc. go in?

Thanks.

Serious question where is it unsmooth? I don't notice it being rough. I see the burm in the middle which is intentional to support drainage and part of the flood control.

I agree with you. It is very far from smooth. But how dare we complain...The whole job has been half ass'd thus far. Why start doing things the right way now?

The bridge/dam portion looks great. Its the road surface bit that looks lumpy. I guess they'll fix it?

More importantly, once the project is completed, what can we complain about next. The noise from the geese on the lake gets my vote.

I am not holding my breath for it to be completed within the next week....

And they repaved Main St. something like 10 years ago? at night. Had it completed within a couple of days with no impact to traffic and the citizens did not have an issue with it. Just don't see why they could not do the same thing with the bridge repaving. It would be completed in one night...
