Post subject: It's an honor to be named Mayor in 2015
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
It is my privilege and honor to advise my fellow residents that on Monday evening I received a vote of trust and confidence from my fellow Committee members to serve as Mayor of Cranbury for 2015. I look forward to working with Dan, Dave, Glenn and Susan this year.
I want to thank Ms. Goetz for serving last year and putting the committee on a path for better dialogue with our residents. I plan to continue and expand on the communication aspects and to that end the first Coffee with the Mayor and Police Chief will be held at Teddy's at 7-9am January 24th.
Looking ahead, many long term projects are nearing conclusion such as the Dam and Downtown beautification.
The Dam railings on Main St. will be installed in the coming weeks (weather permitting) and the lights will hopefully follow soon after.
The downtown project is entering the third phase and we'll see continued improvements this Spring.
We are beginning to see significant development opportunities with over approximately 9 million square feet of warehouse space either permitted or with permits pending. As commercial ratables are key to long term financial sustainability we will continue to work with our business community to attract new development.
Unfortunately, 2015 may also present some challenges. Our affordable housing obligations are still unknown and oral arguments were heard this week before the Supreme Court. My fellow committee members and I are monitoring the situation closely and are prepared to take whatever action is necessary to maintain our town's character and sense of community.
My email is
jtaylor@Cranbury-NJ.com
and you can contact myself or any committee member by leaving a message with our town clerk Kathy Cunningham at 609-395-0900 *234
Thank you,
Jay Taylor
