I understand the Witt's made a very high offer and American Water signed a contract. I am not sure the TC had an option for this meeting. I guess they could still condemn the land. However, the TC could not enter a deal when one already exists with another buyer exists. |

Interesting...
Probably the right decision but...
The TC must have had that discussion during the special meeting that was not open to the public. An issue like this deserves a public discussion. |
I appreciate your sentiment sunshine, but when they are discussing price and strategy it cannot be in public. |

TC decided to buy it but after purchasing it, read the master plan and realized parking isn't needed. It was then decided that it will be turned into a crocus field to save money, since that will only cost around 200k. |

was it discussed at the township meeting? is it now a dead issue, at least in terms of a potential parking lot? will a new house go there instead? |

Did the township committee make a decision last night to buy the water tower site? |

How can it not meet the standards of the historical district? Doesn't HPAC review everything done on Main St? It went through zoning, etc. so hopefully meets all criteria. What rules did they not follow? |

I agree. We should Occupy Maplewood! There are a zillion 99%'ers down Rt130 who would be more than happy to set up tents. Let's do it! |

The 1 percenters of cranbury are at it again. Why do these people who bought the bank building and built that big house that in no way meets the standards of our historical district think they can do whatever they want to our town. I heard they have bought the old water tower property and are going to build another house as big as the first one which will not be in charector with the other more modest homes we have here on Maplewood or follow the rules of our historic district. Once again they will not have to follow the rules the rest of us do here in town. Why because they are the 1 per centers of Cranbury. We all know that is what 1 per centers do. They use their money to bully everyone else around them and then not follow the rules. I was also informed this will cause our homes values to rise much faster then they normally would which will then cause us to pay higher taxes. This may not matter to the 1 percenters that own the bank and their big fancy house. It does matter to the rest of us here, the other 99% of Cranbury who plan to continue to live here for many more years. I am upset and hope our town can stop this. |

Won't be a problem because no one coming from Main Street will ever park there. No reason to. It will, at best, be parking for the residents of the neighborhood. |
