Alert
A message from Chief Rickey Varga regarding the ongoing Coronavirus.
As you are aware COVID-19, commonly referred to as Coronavirus, is a concern to us all. As a result, Chief Rickey Varga feels it is important to reach out and provide some important information and updates. A few days ago, our Governor declared a state of emergency in New Jersey. Cranbury Township Mayor Matthew Scott, Township Administrator Denise Marabello and The Township of Cranbury have been working jointly with Chief Rickey Varga of the Cranbury Township Police Department, Cranbury Township OEM, the Middlesex County Department of Public Safety and Health Services as well as Emergency Management and Preparedness to ensure that all policies, procedures, and protocols have been reviewed and modified as necessary. All have been working cooperatively with the Centers for Disease Control, Federal, State, County, Hospital, and Educational partners in the exchange and dissemination of information which includes all updates.
While your police services will not be interrupted whatsoever, in an effort to minimize potential exposures, the Cranbury Township Police Department is asking that any non-emergency type reporting be done so during normal business hours by telephone. For any assistance needed, dial (609) 395-0031. Any requests for records or copies of crash reports may be forwarded to Chief Varga’s Administrative Assistant, Ms. Lauren Grogan. She can be reached at (609) 395-0031 ext. 7700 or emailed at

There are a number of very highly paid Township employees , who will be collecting very nice State pensions long after they leave Cranbury, long after most of us without pensions will continue paying high NJ taxes to pay for their pensions. Perhaps we should be hearing from them regarding a plan should it become necessary.

I think what people are asking is not the health aspect. But what is the town doing to ensure operations continue if the people we count on to run the town like police, fire, ems and town hall employees become sick. And what are they doing to support residents that may need help
like seniors. Other towns have communicated their plans.

Crickets from the township committee
They have told us about leaf collection and coffee with the mayor not about what is being done in cranbury to protect us
The township committee is pretending everything is fine
They are letting gatherings happen which are probably spreading the virus in cranbury
Thankfully south Brunswick has local updates
The mayor and township committee are failing us
We can not depend on our town government
Are you seriously not getting enough updates and guidance about how to respond to the coronavirus? What could the township possibly say that would cause you to act differently that you’re already planning?

I feel safer now knowing the head of Indivisible Cranbury is guiding our town's response to the corona virus. She has also written a poem for us all to read

Cranbury Township Board of Health - Corona Update
The Cranbury Board of Health met last night to get a briefing about the Coronavirus(COVID-19or 2019-nCoV) from representatives of the Middlesex County Health Department. Attendees included Board of Health members, as well as representatives from the Cranbury School, the Mayor and the Deputy Mayor. Attendees received an update about the Coronavirus, how to prevent it from spreading, and where to go to get more information. One of the biggest takeaways from the meeting was an emphasis on basic precautions such as washing your hands, staying home if you’re sick, and limiting contact with anyone who is ill.
