| Fireworks display to take place in Village Park
Whether their fireworks burst across the sky in giant halos of color, or whiz toward the clouds in streaks of white, International Fireworks is sure to dazzle Cranbury with its July 5th display. The firework display will take place near the gazebo in Village Park on Maplewood Avenue at about 8 p.m. The show is set to follow a performance by 50 to 60 members of the Mercer County Symphony Band at 6 p.m. "It's just a wonderful way for people to get together," said Betty Wagner, chairwoman of the Cranbury Township Cultural and Heritage Committee. The committee has co-sponsored the event with the Historical and Preservation Society since 1997. Barbara Wahlers, vice president of the historical society, said the show draws several hundred people each year. She said attendees are welcome to bring picnic dinners, blankets and chairs for the band's concert. "You get the feeling of being very close to the whole spectacle," Ms. Wagner said of the fireworks, "because you're sitting there in the field and they're right over you.
