I'll say this as a neutral observer. Someone clearly has a personal beef with the Blue Rooster owners and it comes through clearly here. Some people may like the place and some may not, but no one is fooled the the person obsessing about their dislike here is not merely registering a dispassionate review.

Maybe it's a disgruntled employee. They have had quite a few people leave recently and, from what I hear, it isn't a great working environment.

Restaurants are a VERY tough business!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know how Teddy & Cranbury Inn do so well. Maybe, because they've been around for so long?????????
I didn't think that the pizza place would survive........but..........what do I know?
The food biz is VERY difficult. High startup costs and very sensitive to economic conditions.
I don't know how they do it at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Funny

Are the people having this discussion on here making the six figure incomes? Because it sounds like a bunch of high school bs if you ask me... who cares about the br??? haha - i will say though - this is very entertaining to read - a bunch of probably well educated yuppies arguing about a hole in the wall place in a town!! haha

If you read Karen's blog, you can hear all about the cook who is sick, the barista who didn't show up for work, the lack of a pastry chef, etc. I'm not surprised the food quality is going downhill because, IMHO, they bit off more than they should have from the very beginning.

Perhaps if she spent less time blogging/griping and more time helping out in the kitchen, dining room, etc. things would go a bit smoother.

What do you want her to talk about the 7-11 or the weather?? It's a blog about her business. As a 5 year old says, Duh!! You make it one sided from your personal issue whatever it is; however, when you read the post she says she was proud of her staff for making do and for customers who were great. She also says, that she's still learning. That blog post you mention when read in full does not sound condescending at all. Your post on the other hand... Nice try though selective using it to show your personal bias.

No one is forcing you to read her blog. I happen to like reading things. Just as no one is forcing me to read your posts.

hmm I even go shopping - correction.

Don't want to be judged by the harsh critics.

Food for thought - wow you are really harsh. If you don't like the place, just don't go there. Let the rest of us enjoy them in peace.

Good article on Gordon Ramsey. I never knew who he was before he came to Cranbury. When he did, I started watching the BBC show and then the US show. And now Hell's Kitchen. The best were probably the BBC shows because he wasnt totally ridiculous. All his shows are predictable, but somehow they are entertaining. He's a good actor!

I also have to say I'm sad to see Hannah and Mason's is gone. I enjoyed the place while it lasted!

Never heard of a coffee shop? Then what would you call them? A restaurant, coffee shop, bread shop (oops bread store), bakery?

Every business goes thru changes of staff and lack of staffing issues. It's just a speed bump. Meanwhile, She should keep blogging because it is part of the shop's charm and PR. Look at all the chatter here about the Blue Rooster - it get's people talking and visiting her shop. Some people love the place other not so much.

In business, it is a given that not everyone will like what you have to offer and no matter what you do you can't please everyone. So, you correct what you can and move forward.

I was in the Blue Rooster yesterday, for the second time. Very dissapointed. The service was terrible and the food has slipped in quality.
