| My daughter Katie will be a 5th grade Girl Scout in the fall and is working hard toward earning 50 hours of community service.
One of her projects is collecting food this summer for Skeet's Pantry at the Presbyterian Church. It's so easy during the summer to forget about the importance of food donation and they are in great need at the moment. They are particularly looking for boxes of cereal, cans of tuna, soup in cans, canned fruit, laundry detergent and toothpaste. However, donations of everything are very welcome. We have been going around town each week putting fliers in mailboxes but we may not reach everyone in town before we conclude the drive on August 15th. Therefore, we have put a big plastic bin at Gil and Bert's if anyone wants to leave a donation there. We will be sure to get it to Skeet's Pantry. Thanks very much for your help! So far we've been so impressed with the generosity of our friends and neighbors. Thanks to all who have donated and if you haven't yet, please consider doing so the next time you get an ice cream at Gil and Bert's!
