Spring Leaf Collection Starts March 23rd
Spring leaf collection 2020 will begin March 23rd. Please rake your leaves into a hedgerow at the curb. Do not rake them out into the street. The DPW will collect the piles using the newly purchased leaf vacuum. Please remember, do not commingle any branches/chipping, river rocks, bricks, mulch or any other type of debris in with the leaf piles for collection. The leaf vacuum is not capable of collecting these items and if collected, will cause the machinery to malfunction and even worse, personnel injury. If your leaf pile has a mix of any type of debris, it will not be collected.
Residents living in an area where public parking is permitted, place the leaf piles close to a driveway entrance, near a street corner or an opening between parked cars so the DPW can easily access the piles for collection. Keep in mind that spring rains need to drain into the storm drains. So please do not clog or place leaf pile dams that will impede the rain water flows.
Collecting leaf piles throughout Cranbury Township takes approximately 1-1½ weeks depending on amount of leaves at the curb, the weather and personnel. Please have your last pile of leaves at the curb for collection weekend of April 18th. During the final collection week of April 20th, when your leaf pile has been collected, do not replenish it. The fall collection will begin October 26, 2020.
It’s a good idea to call 609-664-3129 and leave a message, with address, where the leaf pile has been placed for collection.
Your patience is greatly appreciated. With your cooperation and the DPW crew, our town and streetscape will be beautiful!
