The Association represents the interest of the business community in Cranbury and performs community service. The next meeting of the Cranbury Business & Professional Association will be held Wednesday, January 14 at 8AM at Pat's Decor, 50 N. Main Street. The economy today is not the economy of 30-40 years ago. Downtown Mom & Pop shops have to compete with nearby malls and online business as well. Small towns, especially those with hostile commerce boards, have THE most difficult time of all. The best option for Cranbury is a plethora of antique shops. Every town that i visit that has an antiques area seems to do quite well. Lafayette, Andover, a small section of Red Bank. and others, have an area of town which hosts several shops more or less clumped together. It's THE ideal solution for this small town's business needs. Forget about a deli, pharmacy, hardware store or bank. They're all out on the highways now to gain from the traffic.
