This agreement would not prevent Fios, it does not fall under the cable restrictions. Each town has a contract with the cable company in order to provide service to the town. If it is not done then Comcast customers today would lose their cable until another provider is agreed upon.
Verizon is not subject to the same rules just as Dish or Direct TV are not subject. In terms of Fios I have been waiting on this as I am anxious to switch. I called Verizon about a month ago and talked to a supervisor. It appears that Cranbury is not a priority for them at this time. It requires new lines to be run and the supervisor said that they are prioritizing the larger residential areas first. At best we likely are a few years away as they explained it to me.
As an aside, has anyone switched from Comcast to Direct TV? Any pros or cons? I am considering a change.

regarding ordinance 08-09-15, will this prevent Verizon Fios from coming to town?
