The PB did require a parking study be performed. The BR did the parking study. My view is that we know the parking study and every business that opens has to do a parking study. If we know there is limited parking then why have the businesses keep repeating the same study over and over?

Disagree on that. I know a few Cranbury residents who had difficulty and stopped. The Blue Rooster owner grew up in Cranbury, is a resident and received the same treatment as others have.

I completely disagree with your statement. The Blue Rooster has gotten everything they have asked for (and even had some "requirements" eliminated) and it didn't take multiple meetings or thousands of additional dollars. Karen has bragged about this on multiple occasions - as though she has the Committee wrapped around her finger.

Hey, its the person with the BR-chip-on-their-shoulder back again. We missed you. BTW, almost no one else actually reads the blog except you so that's the first tell. The bitterness is the other.

Not sure what you're referring to. I got this information from mutual friends.

I have heard both sides. People, including the TC, complain that there is not enough parking. Yet they let the Blue Rooster restaurant open with no parking because a study, done by them, said there is adequate parking. According to the minutes, that study was performed by the BR owner himself. I can't imagine that was expensive.

This thread is about new business in Cranbury. Based on what I see, it should be very easy to open one. Parking however remains an issue.

There IS enough parking. This Township is so ridiculous with the parking arguments. I have never lived anywhere where parking was so easy, even during major events. Even for the 5th of July celebration I was able to park 3 minutes from where I sat for the fireworks show. That's awesome. The rest of the year I have zero problems getting parking near where I want to eat or shop.

There is no problem with parking in the 'downtown' district for those of us who walk or ride our bikes. Get off your duffys and get some exercise. Maybe the TC could invest in some bike racks along Main Street or in the parks.

A couple of things the parking studies required have to be paid for by the owners, but it's required by the PB. It's the same with other businesses as well. I just used that as an example because it was the last restaurant opened.

It should be easy to open a business, that is the whole point, the problem is that it is not easy to do so. Therefore a process has to be implemented.

Did you check the other side of the street or the PNC parking lot? There are usually plenty of spots there.

The TC discussions about the PNC purchase and the initiative to be more Main Street business friendly lead me to think that the majority of the TC has more interests in working for Main Street business owners/investors.

Disagree. The PNC purchase the TC wants for a library and the parking is simply another excuse. The CBA brought specific concerns to the TC multiple times and the TC is just now listening and trying to work with the businesses.

How about parking on the opposite side of the street? I always get on street parking very close by on the other side of the street.

This is most likely a fake poster. No one would seriously suggest that because they might have had to park across the street and maybe 200 feet down that they would completely change their plans about where to eat...

S. Main, Evans and Brainerd Dr. and Maplewood have parking anytime of the week and N. Main rarely has issues. There are even a couple of public spots by the firehouse (not all). Yes, there are times I have been caught having to walk a little bit in the rain. However, compared to any other town this is a non-issue.

Today Mon July 20 I went to lunch in Cranbury at the peak 12:00 time and plenty of spots, and on way back about 1:00ish there were 4 spots right infront of the BR place no more then 1min walk. So where is this fictitious parking problem, I never see it and I'm in town all the time.

You can spin it anyway you want, It's summer, people on vacation, whatever.
The bottom line is that there is NO parking issue downtown.
