Empty ugly hotel or super-cool liquor store, best within 10 miles at least.

I vote for the second one.

This is a Hyatt, not a rent by the hour hotel. The people who generally stay in a Hyatt are Upper middle to upper class.

I'll bet no one expected the Marriott to turn into section 8 housing either.

Last night, I passed the Sheraton I used to work at. It was a nice place in a nice town; a 4 story, brand-name hotel with a nice restaurant and banquet facilities. Now its a no-name hotel advertising rooms for $50/ night.

Sorry, I forgot to mention, the "Utopia Fantasy Suites" cost $89/night. I hear the hotel also hosts a charitable foundation for "middle and upper class" patrons who want to help poor, single moms.
