The garden is a good idea but with the budgets being cut who is paying for the water bill? Would there be a fee to pay for such expenses? Second who is going to do the rototilling each spring and the clean up after the growing season? |

I still think that the new baseball field would make a great garden. It already has a fence around it to keep the kids out! |

Plainsboro Community Garden
The Community Garden is available to Plainsboro Township residents through a random-drawing lottery system. Successful applicants will be granted permission to farm a garden plot, measuring 20 x 20 (one plot per household). Fifty-three plots will be available in the 2009 drawing. The Plainsboro Community Garden is located on the south side of Plainsboro Road at the base of the railroad bridge.
Application Procedure: Completed application form and $25 application fee must be submitted to the township by March 16, 2009 as detailed below. The application fee is non-refundable to successful applicants. An additional $50 security deposit will be required of those selected by April 17, 2009. If you had a plot last year you may request in writing to apply the security deposit to this years security deposit. The security deposit will be refunded at the end of the season if the plot is maintained and cleaned up as outlined in program rules.
Planting Season: Gardeners may access their plots after April 4, 2009. Garden permits expire December 15, 2009. Plots must be vacated and returned to pre-planting condition on or before December 15, 2009 to qualify for refund of security deposit.
Water is available, as well as an on-site compost facility. Questions may be directed to Plainsboro Township Public Works, 609-799-0099, extension 10.
