| Central Jersey Waste & Recycling, Inc. has taken an interest in residential trash collection for Cranbury residents through a subscription service and is extending an introductory offer for the first 200 residences to subscribe for residential trash collection in Cranbury Township, NJ. The offer is for a 1 time a week pick-up for a 96 gallon container, which Central Jersey Waste & Recycling will provide. Introductory price for the first 200 subscriptions will be $25.00 per month flat rate with taxes and fuel surcharges waived for the first 3 years. Subscriptions beyond the first 200 will be charged $30.00 per month flat rate and also have their taxes and fuel surcharges waived for the first year. | Thanks for the info, I just called and signed up. $25 vs. $42 per month for a single pickup from Midco, and they expect the price to hold for the next 3 years. so sorry, there's going to be alot more garbage trucks running through town .... |

Dave Cook announced last meeting that the Twp is looking into townwide garbage pick up which would be less expensive and because it is wrapped in our tax bill it would be tax deductible. I had this in Hamilton and it saved me a lot of money compared to here.
I'll keep Midco for now and wait for the Twp to do their review. |

Is the $42 for single pickup? That looks expensive. I switched from 2x per week to 1x (they put a bright orange colored 1x sticker on my container). I paid about $90 per 3-month. Do you pay Midco per month? |

| my bill for this quarter is 126.06 for 1X pickup with Midco (yes with the embarassing bright orange sticker), i have a medium sized can. I would like to know when the town wide pickup "wrapped" in my tax bill will happen?? i haven't heard anything about it, so meanwhile i won't mind saving some money... |

I think the price difference depends on when you signed up for the service. I have been using Midco since 2002. I switched to 1x because I really don't have that much trash. When I learned that Midco has this option, I immediately called them to switch.
The township option is nice, but I am not sure whether there will be 1x and 2x options to choose from. Some might not like only 1x option (too much trash and got to have the 2x option). |
