Win Cody and I met with someone from the engineering firm doing the widening project yesterday. The township was unaware that this project is happening (this may be due to the change in Township Engineers).
The township is currently trying to find out what this project entails.
We did get a look at the project plan. There are turn lanes being created for cross streets. The engineer mentioned that the current road was designed for 45MPH traffic (he was surprised that the speed limit was 50).
My personal opinion after seeing the plan briefly is that this will encourage drivers to drive even faster (regardless of the speed limit), since turning cars will be able to move out of the travel lanes while waiting to turn. |

A compromise. |

No, the CURRENT ROAD, not the planned road. I don't believe a speed limit has been established for the planned road yet. |
