Historical society puts together events to commemorate special day in Township's history
There's no better way to celebrate the town's history than Cranbury Day, members of the Cranbury Historical and Preservation Society said.
The society has a number of events planned for the communitywide event, which is scheduled for Sept. 9.
The Cranbury Museum, located at 4 Park Place, will be open from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Cranbury Day. Inside, visitors will get a chance to take a tour and see the museum's latest display of Civil War relics collected from former residents of Cranbury.
Outside the museum, volunteers from the New Jersey Civil War History Association will be in full 19th-century regalia and will impersonate real volunteers from the 14th Regiment New Jersey Volunteers Company H.
The re-enactors will each portray a different person that was part of the original company stationed in Cranbury.
