We do not pay Plainsboro $100,000 plus ticket revenue. Each month Plainsboro sends us a check for the revenue they recieved from tickets. We then turn around and issue a check back to them for the same amount. I believe the June amounts are being processed now. So if in June the revenue is $5,500 then that is all the revenue that Plainsboro receives.
We do allocate an estimated number in our budget for information purposes only showing anticipated ticket fines. That may be where the idea of a fixed cost is coming from. However, that is not a fixed fee.
I am also happy to answer any budget questions directly. My email is jtaylor@cranbury-nj.com. Pleas cc Kathy Cunningham twpclerk@cranbury-nj.com.

Jay Taylor |

The fee paid 2 Plainsboro for the court was 100k 5 yes ago. I'm sure it is more than that now. Plainsboro also keeps the revenue generated by Cranbury Officers and by the State Police written on the tpke. Somehow I don't think the taxpayers of Cranbury win in this equation. |

Why are yóu talking about 100k and ticket revenue? We have posts showing that is not true including the post from a current TC member above explaining the situation. Plainsboro only keeps the ticket revenue there is no additional fee. |

You would have had plenty of parking and probably more space than you need, so you could have leased back the excess or used it for other purposes. Even assuming no lease income, that works out to a 4 year return on investment, 5 tops. Not bad when you consider you would be in the black for decades afterward.
Personally I was not a fan of spending money to put a second library there, but if someone would have proposed something that would be cash posivite for my taxes in a few years, I would have been supportive. |
This is for the poster on another thread lauding this site for it's ability to replace newspapers. More misinformation gets spewed out on this site in one week than the Cranbury Press can disseminate in five years. When this site gets too wacky a TC member has to lay out basic facts.
I wish this court nonsense were the only instance, but it is not. Every thread seems to start out with a reasonable question, then really strange mostly made up "facts" appear. Periodically a TC or BOE member has to chime in to keep us from going into outer space. I am worried we may be starting to do a disservice to the community. |

It is not a disservice simply because someones post doesn't coincide with your agenda. These posts are merely conversation. It is admirable that Jay Taylor and others occasionally drop in provide some facts to clear up a miscommunication. Lighten up Francis. |

I think giving morons, zealots and crazy people a forum for expressing their opinions is a valuable community service. Every person gets a vote. |

I guess this could continue forever. Morons, zealots, and crazy people are the ones who don't agree with you. Fantastic. |

It is not about an "agenda". It is about facts. The poster referred to does not consider these posts "conversation", but an alternative to a news gathering service.
Just out of curiosity. What is my "agenda" oh wise one? |

No one can say s/he knows all facts about the affairs in Cranbury. That's why there are exchanges of info to get close to the facts. If you consider all the info posted on the Internet as facts, then you will be disappointed. Please don't call people "morons, zealots and crazy people" when they try to share info. |

never called anyone a moron, zealot, or crazy. Simply stated that this forum does not replace a news gathering organization. For this I was called Francis. Let me get this straight only those who share your opinion get to call names? |

Let me change the word "agenda" to opinion. This is the Internet and this is a forum for a conversation. There is no reason for name calling. |

True. This is an info gathering place. You do need to apply a filter to screen posted info. |

This post is commentary on the board in general and not specifically directed at those who commented on this thread. The point is, even if you disagree with the opinions of others and believe them to be crazy, moronic zealots, there is still value in a forum that allows them to share their opinions. We all get a vote. |

"this is an info gathering place" Yes there are no filters. Not even the filter of truth and factuality. I think a more accurate description is that this is an opinion gathering place. I would take any "information" that you glean from this site with a grain of salt. Well meaning or not most of the "factual information" on this site is suspect.
John Adams said, "facts are stubborn things" In the age of mass communication and the internet they are not. If you don't like the facts, just deny them and make up your own. |
