A proliferation of Rush Holt campaign signs has recently littered Main Street. There are at least five downtown. Campaign signs have not generally gone out until one month prior to an election in Cranbury. The election is two months away and some have been up for a while. The are signs for Cranbury Day and the Helene Cody 5K which only went up one month prior to the event, those organizers showed some respect for Cranbury. Rush Holt and his supporters should not have placed those signs on Main Street so early.

I am not a fan of any political sign Rep or Dem and always thought that was what was nice about Cranbury. While other towns were littered with them- BOE, State, Local, Federal, etc...Cranbury seemed to be above it all. So I do think these signs especially in August detract from the look of the town, IMO.

What I find more disturbing is that we allow these signs, but that we don't afford the businesses the right to advertise with similar sized signs.

Please realize these people who have the Rush Holt Signs up are the Wing Nuts in town. Our incumbent Congressman Rush Holt whom they support voted for the Healthcare Bill, Supports Cap & Trade and is the #1 most liberal member of Congress http://hotlineoncall.nationaljournal.com/archives/2010/02/national_journa_17.php . Does Conrgressman Holt really represent the views of the residents of Cranbury? Or does he represent Nancy Pelosi and her failed policies?

I will say it's nice that we don't see signs in the TC and BOE members yards. It shows our officials are above party politics. It was nice that the town was above party politics.

Go Rush!

There you go . . . there are actually some Democrats in this town. I support Health Care reform (what's so great about our current system??) Cap & Trade and am proud to have voted many times for the most liberal member of Congress.

More than a few. Technically the democrats out number the republicans here. It is only the outgoing TC members that managed to alienate local liberals or independent moderates. I am an independent that will still vote for Rush even as I vote for republican candidates locally and for state office.

No, it wasn't. I don't see Rush or Sipprelle signs up on these individuals yards. I hope it stays this way. I have no issue if they vote Democrat or Republican, but it is nice to see they are not the ardent party members with signs in their yards. The nice thing about Cranbury was always politics were never front and center. It's sad to see it going this way IMO.

If people support candidates that's great people should be active. It was just nice that we never had the signs out that littered other towns.

At the last TC they discussed the budget and HCR is increasing our costs. So how is that helping us as a town or individually? Reform should not lead to increased costs.

It does not appear any signs are in TC or BOE yards, but there is a Rush Holt sign on Main St. in front the Glenn Johnson's house, who is a candidate for township committee.

Hopefully, if Glenn wins he'll understand the importance of not being political. If you look at Cook and Taylor (Dem and Rep) they seem to be working together. I am hopeful that whoever comes in does the same.

I agree in not liking the political signs, but am VERY happy that we are not seeing signs for local BOE or TC positions.

That would be nice but I wouldn't hold my breath. Glenn is politically aligned with the outgoing TC members who have never made any secret of their political priorities. They have actively sought public political association with state and federal Democrats. A couple years ago when our Republican State Senator voted for us on a COAH issue and our Democrat State Assemblyperson abstained rather than offend the state Democratic political machine Township Committee member Stannard actually took the trouble to commend the Democratic politician who didn’t have the courage or integrity to vote for her constituents but not acknowledge the one who clearly voted for us at all, all because of party affiliation. This is right on the Township record for anyone to see.

I’m a Democrat but I would not vote for Johnson because of things like this. I did vote for Cook. In any event, I’m just glad the ultra-political outgoing TC members are leaving.

Democtratic reforms mean one thing. working people will pay the way for those who don't (not just those who can't). Just as people leave NJ b/c this mentality has ruined our state (work in NJ, live in PA), you'll see a simlilar exodus on the national scale of the top worldwide talent that used to flock here. And that load will get heavier and heavier.

If you're retired you may not have to deal with i in your ifetime. But please donlt support these agendas, I want to raise my family in NJ not Sweden.

Actually I think all the years of mushrooming national debt created by the big spending Republicans who until two years ago used to preach that "debt was good" while they created the vast majority of our debt problem contributed a lot to our current problems. Debt is a useful tool in times of economic crisis. But Republicans racked it up by the boatloads during times of intense economic prosperity.

Get your head out of the sand and stop blaming the Republicans. It is true that Republicans helped create debt. But the facts remain that the current federal administration has increased the debt past the point of our economy being able to handle it.
