Saturday night was equally as great. The concert goers numbered in the neighborhood of 300-400 strong. It was a terrific two days for all involved. Thanks to the Arts Council and their hard working committee for putting on such a great event. Also a hats off to all the bands that donated their time and talent. |

I know that I will get reamed out for this but,..........I think that the Crandaddies were okay. I mean, I half expected to see Led Zeppelin from the way everyone was talking!!!!!They are decent musicians. Their choice of music was not great. they played Hard to Handle, but, they played it WAY TOO fast. The drummer must've been in a hurry to use the bathroom or something. I think that only Mark Knopfler could pull of Sultans of Swing. You need REALLY nimble fingers for that number. Like I said, I think that they're okay. The lead singer was pretty good.
Barbecue Bob was GREAT!!!!!!
But, then again, he & his band are professional musicians. They do this for a living and you can tell the difference.
No offense Crans, but, you would be better if you did edgier stuff. |

I agree, I was not impressed at all. Maybe it was all the hype leading up to it but I was disapointed in the Crandaddys |

We had a great time at Cranstock and really appreciated the wild enthusiasm of the crowd.
The perfect set list is a holy grail (which is to say it is protected by killer flying rabbits with huge fangs). That said, if you want edgier stuff, come check us out at Brewsters on October 30th. We'll be on stage for 3 hours instead of 40 minutes (and we'll be in a bar).
IMO, both Todd and Mark are excellent at what they do. I've been in bands with professional musicians who aren't as talented as they are.
It was an honor to share the stage again with BBQ Bob and his band. They are truly professional.
Thanks for coming to the show. Hope to see you at Brewsters.

I'm just saying that some songs are written by people who like to show off their particular virtuosity in that song. Like Mark Knopfler and Sultans of Swing. You need REALLY fast fingers to pull that off. Mark wrote the tune, so he can do it well. Best thing is to not try to copy, but, do your own thing. Barbecue Bob can take a well-known tune and make it his own. Nobody should try to slavishly copy someone else's style.
Ringo Starr is a very good drummer, but, he is NOT great. There are others who can drum him under a table. Technically speaking, he is not quick enough. But, he gets the job done. He is also a great entertainer. He writes, he sings, he tells jokes........most drummers don't do that. But, he plays HIS way. He didn't try to copy Keith Moon. They were just drinking buddies!
All I'm saying is that you should give it your own quirky twist to stand out.
Get Blaise Toto to wear a sombrero or something.
Make it funny and fun to watch!!! |

I'd be interested in hearing from others regarding their Cranstock experience. Anything you would like to see done differently next year? Did you have a favorite band? Were you satisfied with the vendors? Please share your thoughts or comments. |

I really liked Crandaddy. I thought they sounded great, way better than last year. Plus, I think its great when the whole town gets together. To each his (or her) own, but I'm definately going to their next concert. I didn't really like some of the other bands. Not my thing, I guess. |

Everyone has their preference when it comes to liking or not liking certain music genres. I personally lean towards a pop sound versus a lighter style such as a capella, jazz, or swing. That's certainly not to say that these genres are not worth listening to. At the end of the day I believe all musicians try their utmost to give their best performance once they take the stage. |

A good time all around. Music was fun but, more importantly, it was a great time to hang out with neighbors and friends. The kids all had a blast. |

WOW BBQBob and the Spareribs were my absolute favorite of the night. What a fantastic professional blues band, and what an awesome cool, and completely mesmerizing Bob. Loved them. Please invite them to everything. |

Would you prefer to have the two day event condensed into one day (Saturday)? Also, how do you feel about the 1:00 PM start time on Saturday? Do you think a later start would be better? |
