It didn't seem like there was enough participation for a two day event. Just one day ought to be enough, but then you probably couldn't call it Cranstock. The setting was so beautiful with all the lights at night. Maybe next year you could get the electrician to light the lake somehow, it would be a spectacular backdrop.

With a young child a later start would be hard for us. However, a 1pm start with perhaps a musician or band that caters to kids would be good.

WOW BBQBob and the Spareribs were my absolute favorite of the night. What a fantastic professional blues band, and what an awesome cool, and completely mesmerizing Bob. Loved them. Please invite them to everything.

I could be wrong, but, I think that Bob lives here in town now!

I came out specifically for BBQ Bob and the Spareribs and they most certainly delivered the goods. I just wish Bob would turn up the lead vocal mic so that you'd hear him better over the music. But man, what a great band...and it was a very entertaining show, as usual.

I also saw The Crandaddies (or is it just "Crandaddy"?) before BBQ Bob hit the stage. Apparently the Beatles-like crowd scene in front of the stage consisted of many of their kids and their kids' friends. I thought the band was just okay...I enjoyed "Sultans of Swing" and a couple other songs, and the musicians and singer were pretty good, but the bottom line is that they were just playing cover songs like many other cover bands. I think they could have left Garth Brooks' "Friend in Low Places" and Poision's "Talk Dirty to Me" out of the setlist and nobody would have missed them.

Thanks to everyone on the Arts Council for the incredible amount of hard work that no doubt went into making this special event. Hope to see another Cranstock in 2011...

Glad you enjoyed the event. Anything you would change for 2011?

I think it is sad that a couple of "Bob" fans feel the need to knock Crandaddy when they post. I like Crandaddy because I like to dance and sing along with them and I thought they were really good and a lot of fun.

Yeah, Crandaddy is an okay band.
I'm just saying that they are NOT the second incarnation of the Beatles like everyone makes them out to be. I've heard high school kids in garage bands who are just as good. They're okay as a bunch of guys farting around on the weekend. But, they're not great.
I wouldn't pay money to see them.
Thats all I'm saying.

You're too kind... literally.

Crandaddy brought out hundreds of people and rocked the park. The biggest complaint was they didn't get to play long enough.

By contrast, Bore BQ Bob and the Snore Gigs played to a half dozen long-tooth listeners as they chased all the MILFs out of the park with the same set they've been playing since the White Album.

Apparently another long-tooth loser has decided to weigh in. Bring it on grampa! You don't have enough dentu-cream to get into a jawing match with me.

Gee, if bickering about the good and bad of local establishments wasn't enough, we've now sunken to a new low .... band bashing. Can't we all just get along?

I totally loved Crandaddy. BBQ Bob sent me packing after the first song.

I think that Crandaddy or The Crandaddies (Whatever they call themselves) were way better than the 60s British Invasion band they had closing the show last year at Cranstock. They play cool music. Frankly, I never saw a cover band do Sultans of Swing. That was totally surprising and off the beaten track. The guitar player was excellent and the whole vibe was upbeat and fun. They closed out with a Santana song that totally rocked and had everyone dancing. They should have been asked to play much longer.

BBQ Bob and The Briquettes may be professional musicians
but they should warn people ahead of time that they might experience suicidal thoughts during his performances. Maybe even have someone confiscate sharp objects, too. They should take a page from Crandaddy and realize that you dont play depression era music to a large group of people that want to have a good time.

I saw Crandaddy at Brewster's Pub when they put on a show for the Cranbury-Plainsboro Little League. The band was awesome and the dancefloor was packed all night long.

BBQ Bob could probably pack The Elms or an emergency room but that's about it.

Rock on Crandaddies!

Guys,

Crandaddy appreciates the love.

BBQ Bob is a friend of Crandaddy and we all dig his music. We jammed with him last Christmas and we thought he was funny and cool as hell.

Its too bad some of you didn't enjoy Crandaddy so much and some of you didn't enjoy Bob but ya know.... different strokes for different folks.

The band is grateful for all the people that came out and supported us... especially the cheering section of little kids. That was awesome.

We hope to see many of you on October 30th, 2010 at Brewster's Pub in East Windsor. We are throwing a major Halloween Costume Bash with prizes, giveaways and drink specials. There's no cover charge... its our way of saying thanks for all the support.
