Annual tree-lighting is a much-anticipated holiday tradition
There's no better place to ring in the holiday season than in Cranbury this weekend.
There will be caroling, cookies, candy canes, Christmas lights, pancakes, crafts, tea and let's not forget everybody's favorite jolly, bearded man in red.
At 7 p.m. tonight (Friday), residents can stroll down to Memorial Park, next to the firehouse on North Main Street, where the Cranbury Woman's Club will be hosting its annual tree lighting. The Cranbury Brass Band of the First Presbyterian Church of Cranbury will perform holiday classics, along with singers lead by Woman's Club member Dorothy Klotzbeacher. Woman's Club President Audrey Smith said the event is open to the entire community.
"The tree lighting is a special Cranbury tradition," she said. "Everyone is invited to get into the holiday spirit and enjoy the evening with family, neighbors and friends. The Woman's Club will have treats for all who attend."
