How do you go from our officers being assaulted to Cheney?? Who cares how much money anyone makes?? What does it have anything to do about the assault? I sure hope no one from any other towns read posts on this site, If so I'm sure they're laughing at the ridiculous crap that is posted here. |
Lighten up Frances/Francis. |

I don't find it funny at all that two of our officers were attacked and went to the hospital.
This incident is linked to affordable housing, which has been sold to Cranbury (and other communities) as a benign program to help poor families by weaving them into the fabric of the community. Certainly, there are many upsides to affordable housing. However, this incident is an example of the downside of NJ's affordable housing policies for a community like Cranbury- a downside that is frequently dismissed as nothing more than racism or classism, despite the realism. |

Again with the inept sociology. You have one data point you draw your own conclusion. Let me try this technique.
About 15 years ago we had a candidate running for township committee who had a road rage incident in the middle of main street. He ended up in the middle of town screaming at a little old lady. My conclusion running for township committee makes people crazy. Therefore, beware of Dan?
If we had numerous incidents, you could draw a conclusion. Here is the only conclusion you can draw from one incident. A hothead got into an incident with the police. |

You might have a point if Cranbury were the only place on the planet. However, it is not.
You can do a modicum of research and learn about the connections between crime and poverty, or you can bury your head in the sands of political correctness.
You can pretend this incident was a total surprise, or you can recognize it was a matter of time.
Let's be honest, practical and prepared. |

Crime at a housing project? That's never happened before. I guess there really is a first time for everything. |

Once incident happened 15 years ago makes it a concern for people running for TC?
If you say statistics shows that "the majority of people running for TC became crazy", then we may have a story here.
But if you believe in statistics, always keep this in mind: "Lies, damned lies, and statistics". |

Amazing how many people took the poster's example seriously. They were obviously trying to make a point by making up a ridiculous example to show that you can try and draw conclusions from any two unrelated facts but that doesn't make it right. Their point was obviously that it is equally silly to condemn affordable housing on the basis of one individual getting drunk and committing assault. We can all agree that person should be in jail and prosecuted for their actions. Past that, all this speculation about it being some mandate on the rich or the poor is just dumb. |
