Does anyone have some contact info for someone I can contact at the Cranbury Swim Club?

I tried to mail in my dues this year, but the post office sent it back -- I used the membership mailing address on the website (Membership Management, P.O. Box 344, Cranbury, NJ 08512). I also sent an email to swimclub@cranburyswimclub.com with no reply. Plus the phone number on the website doesnt work.

So, I'm reaching out on the forum to see if someone has a contact.

Thanks.

I had the very same problem. I have no idea who is in charge. We wanted to send our money in and also had no response. It seems that the new board is really not running this very well. The other problem we see is that the board gave a bunch of 50% off memberships that really hurt the overall financial situation inorder to benefit a few individuals.

Can you elaborate on these 50% discounted memberships? I pay full price. What qualifies someone for one price versus the other?

The board decided to give any members who signed up a new family a 50% discount and the new family also received a 50% discount. Seems to me this was a real sweetheart deal for some existing members. As I figure it they could have done a whole bunch of advertising for new members for the $6000.+ they gave away on that deal. This was very poor mismanagement by the board.

The email sent around said first 10. So any member could have recruited another family instead of complaining why not look for new members to save yourself the 50%? The new member family still had to put up the bond. Yes, the "theoratical cost lost was 6k", but I know a couple of families who would not have joined this year if not for the 50% discount due to the cost and the bond so that should be deducted from the lost money.

As a result, the club has new members who next year will pay 100% or perhaps recruit more families if the same deal is offered. Either way long term this was a good move for the swim club to get long term revenue. And no I am not a member of the board. However, I have experienced similar marketing with other clubs and it always generated long term revenue.

The failure of the managment/board to reply to the members is a huge concern. This is particularly troubling when money is concerned.

The Cranbury Swim Club is owned by its members and is administered by a volunteer Board of Directors. The annual meeting is held each February at which time the members approve the newly appointed Board members, the annual budget and other items that require membership approval.

Will you volunteer your time and run for a Board position? Maybe you can change things around and make the swim club your # 1 priority.

I am new here. Is the Swim Club a township sponsored entity or a private one?

Trolling on internet forums is more their speed. Based on that, I doubt they'd have much to offer.

All you had to do was sign up one of your friends and you'd both have half off.

Then put your money where your mouth is and join the board. Any member can participate. These people are 100% volunteering their time. Every year they have to look for enough volunteers to fill the positions and then in addition to the board work they have to do the annual clean-up and all kinds of other projects for which almost no one else volunteers. And these volunteers are paying members too so there is no benefit to them.

I personally haven't stepped-up an volunteered so I am inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt. It sounds like a valid marketing strategy to me. But even if it was a dumb one there is no evidence of any intentional wrongful activity.

People love to complain and back-seat drive yet do nothing to put themelves out there and do something about it. It is far easier to pick at someone else's work than to do any yourself.

If you join the board, put your time in and still disagree with their actions, I will 100% respect what you have to say. Until then, I'm just glad someone is volunteering to do something.

Totally private non-profit supported by membership bonds (1-time, resturned when you quit) and annual fees.
