You're a bit paranoid - many posters, including me, speak their mind on this site. --- ease up - my wife and I tried their bagels yesterday. They were pretty good. |

There is a difference between "speaking your mind" and the mindless negativity of a very small set of posters who rush to attack anything local. Find any topic here where someone doesn't get needlessly snarky. Perhaps they should "ease up." |

They are not day old. They are made at another location and delivered there fresh, daily. Go crawl back under your rock, you creep ! |
Are you sure? I was told they are shipped in from Staten Island. If that's the case, they are definitely (at least) a day old once they arrive here.
And yes, I did try them. They're fine - exactly what I would expect from any similar bagel shop that doesn't make them in house. The convenience probably won't be enough to make me switch, but they'll be okay in a pinch. |
Where did you here that they were "shipped" from Staten Island? Not here. Someone mentioned they were "delivered" from there. Pretty big difference between baking that morning and delivering them same day, as many laces do, and basically mailing day old bagels overnight. |

They are delivered hot and fresh every morning. In fact, I was asked where they could donate the leftover bagels and bread. They only want fresh made products to sell. |

Now it's a small set of posters who post negative comments in local matters. What's wrong with that. That how we all make up our minds. Your tendnecy to judge others and to try to shut opinion down is actually a disservice to us all - but it seems to fit nicely into you paranoid mindset |

When I said "shipped" I meant "brought in via some type of transport" - be it delivery van, chuck wagon or carrier pigeon. Sorry if my intended meaning was muddled by your interpretation.
In any event, it's unlikely that they are produced at the factory on the same exact day that they are sold here. There would need to be some lag time for processing, packaging, transit, etc. |

It seems as though people are speaking their minds. Unlike the poster who told another to "crawl back under your rock, you creep!" Only because someone stated the fact that they preferred to patronize an establishment that produces the goods they sell did the negativity rear its ugly head. |

They are actually from what I understand made that day at another bagel shop in the family and driven down in the morning. It's not like they are from Stroman's or Wonderbread's factory.
However, they are not made there. But, often the bagels sit for an hour or two in the baskets in the same store where they are made. So I don't see a difference. They aren't day old bagels. |

We also tried the bagel place -- bagels are pretty good and the owners are very nice. Hope they do well here. |

Pastor Jones speaks his mind too, and exercises his free speech right to burn Korans for the sole purpose of provocation. Of course in this country people can say almost anything they want. That doesn’t mean it is responsible or civil. In this case the poster being criticized was dissing the place before, by their own admission, they had even been in it. And that is consistent with a pattern at this forum of trying to tear everything down for sport. They also exaggerated the idea that they weren’t baked same day with no evidence that was the case. Do they have a write to do so? Of course. Is it a useful, neighborly thing to do? Hardly. |

So when you go to a bagel shop that makes their own bagels, do you buy one from their bagel bin, or do you stand there waiting for a fresh batch of exactly the kind you want? |

oh come on, these bagel comments have degenerated into complete ridiculousness. if you feel better about eating a bagel made before your very own eyes, then get in your car and drive all the way to hightstown to get them. if you want the convenience of getting a bagel breakfast that is "delivered" fresh every morning, a new business that is trying hard to compete, one minute from your house, then WALK over and patronize and support our newest business in town. i don't get why you would even try to criticize them..... |

I come on here and always stick up for small businesses....
We went to the bagel barn for bagles and they were great.
Lunch on the other hand - I got a half sandwhich and it was $6.99 and it was horrible - it might be becasue they are still learning - but you get one time to make a first impression.... I would not recommend their sandwhiches - but their bagels are great!
Maybe after time they will improve - I hope so - its very convient to go down the street for a sandwhich - but not the one that I had! |

Bagels seem fine, would buy again, but really, what are the odds that a deli + fresh bagels is going to succeed in that location? I wish them the best, but it just seems like they face long odds.
If they had great & distinctive sandwiches sure, but a plain jane deli + bagels is doomed. |

Hello All, My Name is Vincent and I am the owner Of the CRANBURY BAGEL BARN! I want to thank all the nice posts I have read and take any criticism with the hope of bettering my buisness. All Bread and Bagels are made THE SAME DAY and picked up by me every morning. Yes from Staten Island! I have come to really like the people of Cranbury and the kids are great ! I hope you will tolerate any kinks that we need to work out so that we can serve this community as best we can. |
