A young mother reported a suspicious looking man walking near the lake on Main Street to the township building.
The police were informed, and the school was locked.
The students were not aware as it was a short time.

What exactly does a "suspicious looking man" look like?

Thank you for the info!

There was a similar concern several months ago where officers questioned a man on scholhouse lane. I don't believe anything came of it, or running his identity.

It is hard to say. Probably a lot like an anonymous guest poster who asks stupid rhetorical questions.
Doncha think?

I don't think this is a rhetorical question - pretty valid one, if you ask me. Was this individual acting erratically? Was this individual dressed unusually? Was this individual harassing others? In other words, what was it that made him "suspicious looking"? I have a feeling this young mother overreacted and that's why nobody can come up with a valid response for his supposed "suspicious" nature.

Your post confuses me. A rhetorical question is perfectly valid. Your definition of a rhetorical question seems strange. A rhetorical question is a question posed for persuasive effect with no expectation of a reply. Vaidity has nothing to do with it.

I doubt the poster expected a reply. Because the only person capable of answering this question is the one who made the police report. The chance of that person reading this blog is low. The chance of this person wanting to reply on this forum and subject themselves to the mean spirited snarkiness that is likely to follow is even lower.

Sounds a lot like the incident that happened a few years back:

Maybe I've become cynical in light of the nature of some posters here, but I took the poster's question about what 'does suspicious look like' as a person's attempt to troll by launching into the same tired rhetoric we see here.

But...I'd view suspicious as anything out of the ordinary that strikes you as odd. Homeland security and law enforcement don't provide a dictionary definition of what constitutes "suspicious" when they ask for reports of suspicious behavior.

So I cannot jump to a conclusion that the woman making the report over-reacted. If it made her nervous or uncomfortable, good for her for reporting it. I'd rather have caution than regret. Local police officers have clearly stated the same.
