The driveway apron is going to be repaired. That was option one that the TC agreed on last night. If you heard otherwise you are wrong. |

You do know what a driveway apron is I hope?

Its the part that connects the street to the driveway. |

I want to add some facts on what the TC agreed to do and not do on Monday in terms of the actual repair. As always, I am available at jtaylor@cranbury-nj.com if you have any questions or concerns.
From the actual analysis by Van Cleef.
Cost- 9,500.00 work to be done by JML (lowest cost)
Work to be performed:
1) Remove slate from hole and save for later use
2) Remove and dispose of concrete driveway apron which has been undermined.
3) Fill the area under the driveway apron and sidewalk area with clean fill.
4) Install additional compacted fill on a one on three slope in the driveway area to stabilize the new fill under the reinstalled sidewalk.
5) Install a non-woven fabric on the entire face of the slope placed in the driveway.
6) Install ri-rap on the slope face over the fabric to prevent erosion.
7) Install the recovered slate sidewalk. If there is not sufficient slate recovered, or if it is not in condition to place as sidewalk, use asphalt to bridge gap.
8) Install an asphalt driveway apron.
9) Topsoil and seed as necessary. |

Please don't take this as being rude as that is not my intent. I am happy to reply to any emails or have conversations on why I voted the way I did on this or any other issue which is why I posted my email address.
However, I don't want to make any statement that may cause a thread to continue on whether positive or negative when the issue concerns a homeowner, business or an individual out of respect for those individuals. I posted the above simply so people could see the facts on what the project entails and the cost.
I will say that I did speak with the Twp. Engineer today and hopefully the repairs will be made by Halloween. |
