Does anyone know if the chipping regulations are in effect for October? I have noticed several brush piles out already and I thought you were not supposed to put them out until the weekend before the curb side chipping week.

Truly a waste of time and money spent on notifications. Leaves are falling now, not once a month.

I have a question concerning the rules of the chipping of branches and brush - According to the rules; from what I can understand - not only must the branches be put out no earlier that the weekend before the third wednesday of the month - BUT we also need to call the DPW to have them picked-up. Now, correct me if I am wrong - I don't ever remember having to call the DPW also. I just thought it was automatic.

The chipping service starts third wednesday of the month. That means, the DPW crew will start working third wednesday of the month. There is no need to call to have DPM start working. The crew will check the streets in town to get the work done. They are very reliable.

Idea maybe we can have our crossing guards ticket violators of the chipping and snow clearing laws in our town.

Funny, I like the references to the Oranges.

Funny, I like the references to the Oranges.

ORANGE — To the short list of required equipment for a school crossing guard in New Jersey — safety vest, hat, badge and reflective "STOP" paddle — Orange will be adding an unexpected item: a citation book. In what Mayor Eldridge Hawkins Jr. says is a response to the tight fiscal climate, the city will begin to train its crossing guards as parking enforcement officers this month. Within a few weeks, after they are sworn in by a municipal judge and when they are not performing their more typical duties, a contingent of guards will be issuing citations for parking in front of a fire hydrant, expired meters and other nonmoving violations. http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2011/10/orange_to_require_school_cross.html

In the very recent Cranbury Township Newsletter, under Department of Public Work''s News IN RED, it is written: "Due to Hurricane Irene, branches can be put out to the curb. Public Works will be chipping branches only during the next few week (sic). Leaves will be collected in the Fall. Please remove all leaves from the curb."
PWD please note it is now and has been the Fall for some time.
Now, what is the ruling about notices being sent out for so-called violations of the DPW "protocol of this valuable chippig service"?
Reminder: our RE taxes are paying for this service and the writing and enforcement of these conflicting edits.

I'm not sure these posts are real ad things get quiet and then someone posts negative views.

Leaf pick up is not chipping. You can go to the town website and see the schedule for the leaf pickup.

Just because you pay taxes like all of us does not mean you can make up your own rules. Why should I look at your branches for a month between pickups? We don't pay for constant chipping and I don't want to raise my taxes for that nor do most people I imagine as the costs would be in the thousands. It's costly enough to do the constant leaf pickup during the fall.

I agree with you 100% I am sick and tired of looking at my neighbors brush pile for a month. Not only does it make the town look dirty it makes a nice home for mice.Years ago you would never see brush sitting around for a month.
