Not very believable, why would the Historical Society be at odds with a commission that is supposed to keep the town historical? My only objection is that they bent over backwards to let that new house in town. There must have been some palms greased on that one.

The historical society is about town history. This is a private group that is not funded by any tax dollars. The Historic Preservation Commission is set up by the town, funded and managed by the town to make the historic village keep it's look.

The Society as a group is made up of over 100 members. Many of them oppose the restrictive view of HPC and they have no role with HPC. The historical society because they are close in name to HPC has received bad publicity and people assume there is a connection. I am a society member and have no role with HPC or their rules.
