Cranbury OKs preserve on West parcel

14 acres of the West property set aside.

The Township Committee unanimously approved an ordinance Monday that sets aside 14 acres of the 58-acre West property — located alongside the Cranbury Brook — for passive recreation and a nature preserve.

The Environmental Commission has been lobbying to have the land set aside for environmental preservation for the community at large and education for nearby Cranbury School students and recreation for Scout and service organizations in town since December 2003.
