Cranbury — The clock is ticking for a powerful Clydesdale work horse, a pony with brown and white splotches, and about 40 other horses at the Camelot Auction House.

The owners say they have no choice but they do. Stop breaking the law or stalling on the proper records. It seems like the State is doing the right thing. They've given these people many months to start complying with the law and to provide records that prove they are. The owners seem to have counted on the State to indefinitely rubber stamp them regardless. The State issued repeated warnings and they were ignored. The State said this would happen if they didn't comply so it shouldn't surprise them. Now it seems like they are threatening the horses lives for the sole purpose of trying to pressure the State into backing down and allowing them to continue to operate outside the law. Shame on them and good for the State. Hopefully the owners aren't so inhumane as to go through with it or someone steps in and offers a solution short of the State allowing them to operate outside the law. But if they do go through with it, hopefully within the horse community their actions will be known and affect their reputation accordingly.

This is the type of story cast to make an emotional grab. It also suggests that the owner is being victimized by an unreasonable state mandate. I certainly hope the horses are not euthanized. And I do think well of the owners for their rescue efforts. However, the health tests being required are to safeguard the health of other animals. It would be unfair to not hold the rodeo owners accountable for making sure the animals coming into the farm are healthy and not carrying a disease that would cause other people's horses to become ill.

No one but the horses are being victimized here. This place continues to profit while failing to follow simple equine laws put in place to protect humans and horses. This auction place is definitely not in it to save horses, they are in it to make money.
Have you ever been within a few miles of this place during rodeos? The mexican music is blaring. There are cars parked everywhere. I hear there is tons and tons of problems at this auction/rodeo all the time. It is better that they are closed for all of us and the horses.
