The Cranbury TC had a reorganization meeting last evening but I have not seen anything posted about who was appointed mayor for 2012. |

I wasn't there but everyone has understood since the election that it was going to be Dave Cook so it would be quite surprising if that's not how it turned out. |

Does this mean Dave will talk even more? I didn't think that was possible. |

You have to realize that he will be talking for himself and Pari! We thought that she was gone but she still lives in Dave's voice! |

BTW - It is a Township Committee not a Council (form of government)
...and a question? What is the municipal residence requirement for an individual running for, winning and serving in an elected office? |

Why? Are you saying any of the TC members are not residents? |

At least it's not Jay who gives 10 minute reports. Does anyone really care what we spend each month on vehicle maintenance, how much we spend on PW each month, how many police investigations occur, tickets are written or how much overtime is worked? We know people respond to fire and first aid calls do the amount of calls matter?
It's his job to know this and manage the costs. No other TC member spends time explaining the bills or costs. So why does he? Keep the meeting moving. |

It is important to report on those items as it helps determine the need for manpower, equipment, maintenance costs. Otherwise there would be no basis for spending (or not spending) township funds. |

Let's not start that again. There were people registered from each national party that voted in Jay, Dan and Wynn when they got sick of the way the previous majority prioritized party over local. And there were people registered each party that voted for Susan. Both campaigns this time made a point of saying that party affiliation was not relevant for Cranbury and people took them at their word. If you thing Susan's election is some mandate for playing party politics locally again then the new 3-person majority will be short lived. One person aside the TC has played nicely the last few years, appointing people to Boards regardless of party affiliation, etc. Let's not revert. It won't work and people will respond at the next election if they sense they were deceived into believing the members had moved past that. |

Dave is Mayor and he appointed Dan to the planning board. So the TC is working together without a view to politics. |

Interesting that no one has responded to the question about municipal residence requirements!
And further, no one posted a response to a following post asking if there was an elected someone who did not reside in Cranbury Township.
Instead postings have taken a political turn with charges of "sore losers" and comments about the length of time that committee folks speak. |

A person must have their legal address and be a registered voter in Cranbury to serve on the TC or School Board. You could for example have a home in Cranbury and apartment in NYC where you live during the week and still serve. The condition though is your home in Cranbury must be primary. A person who moved in last week could file to run for office as well. They would be limited more by filing deadlines. |

Seems like some troll is probably trying to stir trouble by vaguely implying one of the TC members is not a resident without being specific since anything specific wouldn't stand up to scrutiny. I personally know all of the TC members except Susan, the newest, and know for a fact that they all reside in Cranbury. And none of them reside her only technically, mostly living in NY or Florida. They truly live here. I can't speak to Susan personally but by all the accounts I have heard she does too. So if whoever made the original post has something to say, be specific, or move on. |
