So I don't get it. The TC years ago authorized and took out bonds and notes to build this? Why did they wait so long to build it? Have we been paying interest on these notes and bonds all this time? Can someone please explain this process to me? |

Why is asking for an explanation of the process feeding a troll? |

Mayor Cody tried and tried to use money like this that was laying around to pay for projects such as the brainard lake dam construction. Township Committeeman Taylor instead insisted this money be kept for his $450,000 barn for trucks. |

Look at the TC notes Mayor Cody supported the PW barn. He set up the subcommittee that Mr. Taylor led making it come in for what was already in the notes and bonds. I attended the meeting when Mr. Cody formed the subcommittee. |

You are obviously a decent guy who is trying to explain the last ten years of this process. But no matter how well you explain it, our friend who lives under a bridge will incessantly complain that it is Taylor's fault. Quit while you are ahead. Just ignore him. |

According to the Cranbury Press article, one of Dan Mulligan's reasons for objecting to the barn is that the TC may want to outsource public works. I've heard similar comments about outsourcing the police, too. Those are interesting sound bites, but I haven't seen anyone with the courage to put pencil to paper and actually estimate the savings or put forth a plan to make it happen. Where are the real conservatives in this town? |

We share other services with other towns which saves money. Why not public works? |

It is not the shared services that is funny, it is the over the top rhetoric of "courage" and "where are the real conservatives".
I actually have faith in the Township committee to adequately research the pros and cons of outsourcing the police and/or public works.
I would remind you there are still posters on this board who regularly complain that we outsourced our court system and that was almost 20 years ago. There are pluses and minuses to outsourcing. |

I talk to other conservatives all the time who think we should be making these bold moves. I think it would be refreshing for someone in politics to actually stand up for conservative values on behalf of the taxpayers. But that takes courage. |

You sound like a bumper sticker. it is not about "courage". It is about making calm clear decision based on the best information available. Also it is not "conservative" or "liberal" values. It is basic cost benefit analysis. Ideological claptrap has no place in this analysis. |

The Twp spends lots of money on equipment so DPW can take care of the town for us residents. Now you complain when the Twp wants to protect it's investments by storing them inside and out of the weather. You people are crazy.... Your never satisfied. You remind me of my 3 year old. Your worring about taxes.....if you don't like what you pay for taxes I have a simple solution.... MOVE. If your really that financially tied then do something about it. Don't come on the bored and complain..... I'm all for the DPW starage barn, It's protecting my hard earned money so those guys can keep making our town look the best it can be(except for the parts of Heritage park they don't cut because of the flowers that don't bloom)......I've said it before and I'll say it again... COMMON SENSE, SO RARE IT'S LIKE A SUPER POWER!!! Oh God!! |
